POP @ 47th VI-HPS Tuning Workshop

Thursday, June 5, 2025

Instructors from the POP partners JSC, RWTH and UVSQ supported the 47th VI-HPS Tuning Workshop, which took place at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, from 2nd to 5th June, 2025. This was the first such workshop organised this year. Like every VI-HPS Tuning workshop, it

  • provided a comprehensive overview of the VI-HPS programming tools suite.
  • explained how to use the individual tools effectively.
  • and offered hands-on experience and expert assistance using the tools.

The workshop also included presentations of POP collaboration partners Technical University Darmstadt and Technical University of Dresden. It gathered around 20 participants hailing from University of Duisburg-Essen and other universities from the HPC.NRW network. The new Duisburg-Essen amplitUDE cluster (Intel CPU + Nvidia GPU) was used during the workshop.

Feedback has been positive, with the participants praising the usability and reliability of the tools, and requesting for the tools to be deployed on their own universities' clusters.
